Hi, I'm Tiffani!

I live in Cedar Park, Texas, where my days are filled with creative writing coursework, lots of caffeine, and teaching my two-year-old her ABCs. Stories are at the heart of every minute of my day, from fitting in chapters of my novel while my daughter sleeps to studying what gives a story its spark and why some stories become so much more than just ink on a page.

I'm especially drawn to stories that let readers escape their world while also showing them how to carve out their own place in it. I write fantasy and romance with an emphasis on character-driven storytelling, relationships that feel like more than just a trope list, and emotions that readers carry long after they've closed the cover. I owe a lot of my affection for the written word to writers like Rick Riordan, Rebecca Yarros, V.E. Schwab, and Devney Perry, whose stories have not only changed how I view myself but continue to shape the kind of storyteller I aspire to be.

I'm currently working on my debut fantasy novel, a story about erased history, self-discovery, a little splash of portal magic, and a dash of spicy romance. Alongside my novel, I'm building a portfolio of short fiction as I work toward a career in publishing as both a novelist and editor.

The Invisible Life of Addie Larue by V.E. Schwab

Henry's character healed parts of me I didn't know were still broken.

In Cold Blood by Truman Capote

The only book assigned in high school that I didn't have to force myself to finish. A beautiful example of narrative nonfiction that sparked both my love of true crime and my appreciation for captivating storytelling. My used first-printing edition is one of my most prized possessions.

The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett

The book that first made me believe in magic. I own two different special editions that I'm now sharing at bedtime with my daughter.

The Empyrean series by Rebecca Yarros

Seeing myself in Violet's disability, and later learning through Rebecca Yarros' interviews that many of those experiences were inspired by Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, helped me connect years of seemingly unrelated symptoms. For the first time, I had something concrete to discuss with my doctor instead of simply asking, "What's wrong with me?" and the language I needed to express my struggles.
